Last year in August, five French crews went to Leutkirch-Im-Allgaü, in Germany, to participate for the first time in the world championship of aeromodelling. It was the opportunity to meet other enthusiasts, to confront to them and to know the weaknesses of the device or the man to improve.
Francis et Stéphane Laurens
In the general classification on 16 represented nations, 66 pilots, the French people took the 7th place in the classification by team. The first French people were
Francis and Stéphane Laurens
, with the presentation of their Alpha Jet. They ended 16th in the category of 20 kg. You can find other information by consulting the site : http://www.ijmc-france.com
We take the opportunity to indicate that the IJMC is in search of sponsors for the financing of the travel in Finland where will take place the next World championship, in August, 2017. According to the budget, other teams can be engaged.
Some presentations.
During this long weekend, they are come in large numbers to train, improve for some, to put, still, in the point the equipment and, for some, to make tests of new machines, new engines among which some manufacturing house.
Le Florimon Dolphin de Pierre Bertrem
Pierre BERTREM
comes from the club Lammergeyer of Passy, in Haute-Savoie. Why " lammergeyer ", because the nature reserve where are bearded lammergeyers is situated on the municipality of Passy. Pierre is a fan of aeromodelling since the age of eleven years. He passed in the jet and built Florimon Dolphin because it is a model recognized for its qualities, within the reach of a beginner, in his category…
Olivier et son Avantis XXL
Olivier
train for championships with an AvantiS XXL. This one is a plane of pure training which we also call "mule". It allows academic repetitions with a good quality of flight without the specificity of a chosen plane but also not to break the plane of competition... Down at the bows of the plane, he painted a cupidon and are written the first names " Fred and Olive " in reference to Frédérique and Olivier. It is a way of associating his wife with this adventure of the aeromodelling because is needed a lot of patience and self-abnegation to accept any passion.
Lucien GERARD,
Luxemburger of the club MFL, put in runway its D-EIWZ Fanjet 600 turboprop. The prototype of this plane went out in 1979, developed in Germany for the training of the military pilots on fighter. His model is a manufacturing house, a work to four people. He also gets ready for world championships. The last time when he had come to Saint-Yan, the propeller was driven by an electric motor. This time, it is the version from reaction which flew : the turbojet is a manufacturing house from a reactor of the trade.
Michel and Romuald DAMSTER,
of the club of Chartres, have an autonomous glider Delta with reactor. This replica of the Polish glider SZD-54 Perkoz makes all the same 6 m large-scale without extension lead. The reactor has a push of 8 kgf. Their model of competition is a small-scale model of Lockheed T-33 equipped with a reactor of 16 kgf of push. Anecdotally, T-33 of the American army ended its career either as target drone, or in demonstration especially in Florida.
Yann LESTAVEL,
of tne Tarn, and
Christian HERIT,
of the club of aeromodelling of the Agenais, fly a Diamond Futaba. They chose this type of plane as its futuristic aspect; as for the red color, it is Christian's favorite color. They train for the new techniques of the Jet ; the handiness from a model to an other one is very different.
Michel ROSSET,
of the club of Poliènas, in Isère, possesses Piper Pawnee. This plane was designed specifically for the agricultural manuring in 1959. His manufacturing was stopped in 1982 but many devices are even still used in the field of the leisure activities as the tug boat of gliders. His small-scale model was modified by replacing the classic engine by a turboprop manufacturing house from a reactor of the trade. Already, there is around thirty years, while reactors small-scale models did not exist, he had tried to realize one. The current problem, it is that there are no small models yet ; then… The advantage of this Pawnee, it is that he has a slow, quiet flight.
His passion allows him to occupy pleasantly its retirement, and there is still some work : the current assembly does not still suit to him. He is again going to need to modify the evacuation of gases. Good luck !
